Jun ’16. A 0.33 l bottle. It poured a clear copper body with tiny head atop. Biscuit and orange aroma. Lightly bitter flavor, more hoppy (fruity, floral) than other English bitters. Also malty, caramel, dry biscuit. Medium in body with shorter, very dry paper/herbal finish typical for the style (when tasting I thought it’s an ESB, and it is actually). Not bad, likely a tad better than the regular trooper, although each one has its own qualities.

330ml bottle. Clear amber colour with small to average, thick, frothy to creamy, half-way lasting, white head. Mellow malty, slightly fruity aroma, unspecific fruitiness, a berries and apple touch. Taste is mellow malty, slightly fruity hoppy, minimally papery, hints of gooseberry.

Pours a clear golden-amber colour with a warm cap, decent retention and some nice creamy lacing. Aromas of caramel, light alcohol, bready and raisin notes. The taste starts off with apples flavours, going through other fruity malts and some blended grassy hops in the finish with the warming of the alcohol. Not a bad English Strong Ale with enough going on all around. Just a tad too rich to have another.

0.33l bottle. This is a crystal clear kinda darker wood golden colored with a small but persistent and quite lacing grey head on the top. It has an sweetish caramel-malty aroma. Some champagne soda sweetness and fruitiness. Cola nuts and English yest. I smells quite English to be honest. Like a powerful bitter. I don't hate it but it's not directly mine thing either. It doesn't taste all that good. It's really metallic and actually somewhat unpleasant to have in the mouth. At least in the beginning. Vegetable bitterness with cabbage, rusty nails and caramel. Feels flat in the taste. On the mouthfeel it's nice and oily while soft on the bubbles. Just not something I like too much this. 29.01.2016

Bottle, 0.33l. Pours clear amber color with thin quickly diminishing off-white head and soft visible carbonation. Aroma of grass, bread, mild fruits, toffee and flowers with mild medicinal note. Taste starts with medium sweet toffee, follows grassy and mild fruity, mouthfeel is dry, while finish is moderate bitter. Light to medium body, oily texture and soft carbonation in palate. Not bad, but not even astonishing...

Sorry lads. Not a all my cup of irons. A typical English strong ale. And I try to avoid such tings.
Deep golden color with a fine off white head. Ok intensity in the aroma, unfortunately with some alcohol coming up. Medium + body and an ok carbonation. A bit sweet and a moderate bitterness. Caramel malty, fruity and some alcohol in the flavor.
[Bottle from Systembolaget web order in Sweden – enjoyed before Iron Maiden played in Gothenburg 2016]
