TUPA

Tupa is a Lager flavored beer with Tahitian honey and spices; it has nice copper red and golden hues. With a slightly hoppy taste, it resembles celtic barley beer, and releases intense honey notes underlining gingerbread fragrances. Soft, light and refreshing with a strong character, the taste is the right balance between the softness of honey and the freshness of spices.

Our artisanal beers are available in limited edition 33cl bottles.

Deep copper coloured body with a thinnish, relatively fast-dying just off-white and almost tan head. Aroma of honey (no surprise), grain, oatmeal, light earth, barley, hay, earth and a dose of yeast and a touch of peat and some unfinished sugars. Light to Medium-bodied; Strong honey and rich malt bite at first with a touch of hay, grain, oatmeal, earth and funky cardboard malt showing through with only a dash of sweetness and grain with the honey and stale malt noticeable and a funky cardboard and peaty malt that comes through, especially at the finish. Aftertaste shows the sweetness and rich punch of the alcohol and peated malt with the slightly off-putting cardboardie malt note, especially at the end. Overall, a funky and rather deep rich malty beer with a lot of sweetness from all the honey, but pungent from the alcohol and peated malt notes with a light medicinal flavour towards the end. Not really worth trying, unless you are like me, and wanted to sample all the different offerings (no matter how bad they were) here on the islands! I sampled this 33 cL bottle purchased from Champion Supermarket here in [downtown] Papeete, French Polynesia on 31-July-2019 for XPF330, sampled a few minutes later here in Papeete, French Polynesia.
