Blonde ale hopped with Columbus and Hallertau and, perhaps more importantly in this case, spiced with green peppercorns and coriander. Thanks to Marie & Christophe! Snow white, moussy, medium thick, stable head, hazy yellow golden robe with visible sparkling, turning into a murky beige in the end. Aroma of cucumber peel or indeed fresh (not preserved) green peppercorns, a truckload of coriander seed, raw turnip, bread crust, dried green onion, withering field flowers, wet grass, leek. Fruity onset, banana peel, green pear and cucumber peel notes, lightly sourish and moderately sweet, lively carbonated in a fine-bubbled way; bready, cracker-like malt middle, a tad powdery in the end due to the dead yeast, with grainy core, softly bittered by floral, subtly oniony and weedy hoppiness and strongly spiced by coriander with soapy effect - overpowering even the green peppercorns. Lingering coriander and floral hop bitterness along with some estery fruitiness. Interesting concept, but in need of more technical perfection: with less yeastiness and far less coriander, this could be a much more appealing creation. Still, a nice and easily drinkable, quite distinct Belgian 'kruidenbier' of sorts - but why it bears the confusing name 'La Wiener' I cannot say. Perhaps Wiener malt was used, but probably only in very small portions if that were the case - with the actual Wiener beer style it bears no resemblance whatsoever.

Flaska från No Science webshop. Trevlig.

gift from my neighbour - right from Brussels; many thanks, Benjamin! hazy pale yellow colour, minimal off-white head; aroma of lemongrass, lemon zest, coriander, grainy and floral notes; taste has the same notes as can be felt in the aroma with yeasty and slight smoke notes; correct one

Bouteille 33cl, BB 08/2022.

33cl bottle from Belgomarkt in Brussels. F: big, egg-white, average retention. C: gold to amber, hazy. A: malty, spicy, citrus, floral, coriander, sweet fruity. T: medium malty base, coriander from the onset, vaguely fruity, yeasty, dusty, bit orange, spicy, not bad, but totally over-carbonated even for saison, partially enjoyed.
