Tap@ Brewpub. Pours black in color with a dense brown head. Aroma has coffee, cocoa, licorice, hint of red berries, roastedness. Flavor has roasted malt, licorice, ashy notes, cocoa powder. Quite ashy. Smooth and high drinkability despite the high abv. Very tasty IS. This is one of the better beers I have had this year.

(Keg at Bryggeri Helsinki, 20151031) The beer poured black. Its head was medium sized, lightly brown and it lasted long. Aroma had burnt malts, liquorice, coffee, dark chocolate and hops. Palate was full bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were burnt malts, ash, liquorice, coffee and bitterness. Aftertaste was burnt, hoppy and bitter. A tasty but bit too burnt brew.

Tap at Bryggeri Helsinki, Helsinki. Colour is black with small brownish head. Aromas and flavours: Coffee, some grain, some hops, hints of berries, "red wine elements", hints of dark chocolate, some licorice and roasted malts. Excellent. Pretty amazing drinkability. I could do this all day. Top3 Finnish imperial stout so far definitely.

Draught @ Brewpub. Pours pitch black with a sticky smooth brown head. Aroma of roasty malts, licorice, coffee, dark chocolate, cocoa, hints of earthy notes. Taste is smooth, roasty and earthy with loads of salty licorice, dark chocolate and hints of vinous berries. Finish is roasty, crisp and slightly syrupy with some salty licorice, dark berries and mild burnt notes. Feels quite fresh, would be interesting to see how the taste developes over time. Pretty tasty already now. 8-4-8-3-15. Re-rated on 16.12.2015. Perhaps slightly more smoother and balanced than fresh. Still very tasty.
