Bottled@HBF2016. Black colour, small brown head. Aroma is liquorice, wood, some toffee and mild alcohol too. Flavour is slightly toasted malts, wood, some liquorice, mild alcohol as well as a mellow bitterness to it. Quite balanced.

Bottle @ weekly tasting shared by Joes. Opaque pitch black color, medium sized light brown head that lasts for quite a long time. Aroma is malts, some roast, light liquorice, light coffee. Taste malts, toasted malts, some alcohol, liquorice again, firm dark malt and liquorice bitter finish. Quite thick texture, medium to full body, medium carbonation.

Aroma is somewhat mild with cocoa and oat. Flavour has salty licorice, some cocoa, coffee and hints of oat. Smooth and somewhat creamy palate. A bit too salty for my taste but not bad. Quite what it promises to be in the label – an IS without gimmicks.

A bottle. A black beer, a head is medium and light brown. Aroma is balanced with liquirice, chocolate, coffee, and some milky sourness. Taste has liquirice, black coffee, quite strong roastiness, some balancing bitterness. Medium+ bodied, low carbonation, slippery to drink. Straightforward, roasted beer. Tasteful.

Dark opaque brown color, small off-white head. Aroma has cocoa, light alcohol and toasted malts. Medium-bodied. Soft palate. Cocoa, toasted malts. Good hoppy bitter finish and aftertaste. Soft, hoppy, toasted and a bit sweetish. Nice. --- Beer merged from original tick of Sofia on 22 Dec 2024 at 10:59 - Score: Appearance - 8 | Aroma - 7 | Flavor - 8 | Texture - 8 | Overall - 7.5. Original review text: Tap at The Oak Barrel, HEL. Opaque colour and mid-sized brownish head. Chocolaty, roasted aroma. Medium-bodied to full-bodied. Smooth, roasted, coffeish, bitter. Not bad, has some character of Mikkeller impys. Very good.

(Draught at Bryggeri Helsinki, 14 Dec 2015) Black colour with creamy beige head. Roasted, malty nose with dark chocolate, milky coffee, dark bread, liquorice and some blueberries. Malty, roasted taste with notes of dark chocolate, coffee, blueberries, liquorice and a generous cacao bitterness in the finish. Almost full body, with a touch of sweetness. Tasty, well made and really well balanced imperial stout. Very nice.

A deep dark imperial stout with a thin brown head. In aroma, bitter chocolate with loads of coffee beans, licorice notes, nice bitter sweet chocolate with coffee grind, musty character, light licorice, alcohol warmth, very nice. On tap at brewery.
