On tap @Mad For Beer (Rome). Dorata carica, brillante, appena torbida, schiuma bianca media e persistente. Al naso, esteri, banana, pesca matura, caramello, spezie. In bocca è dolce, rotonda, speziata, con chiusura amara a bilanciare, caramello e frutta matura. Corpo medio-pieno, carbonazione media. Molto buona.

A: malty, spicy, coriander, banana, bit green apples, mellow fruity, bit honey. T: malty, coriander, bit alcohol, fruity, bit honey, bit banana, floral, bit bready, medium body and carbonation, very simple yet not bad but alcohol is too prominent, partially enjoyed.

Strong “blonde dorée” the Belgian way so effectively a tripel, with classic ‘fake’ abbey associations; from a new Walloon microbrewery. Snow white, moussy, bubbly head opening in the middle, clear pale golden blonde robe with warmer ‘old gold’ hue and very lively sparkling; only light hazy with sediment. Aroma of green apples, raw pineapple, dusty coriander seed, freshly cut nettles, corn cream, margarine, soaking wet cereals, sweetclover, banana, pear, chewing gum, wodka. Crisp, clean onset, bubblegummy banana ester but not over the top, notes of freshly cut apple and pineapple, fizzy carbonation, smooth and lean body. Cereally, ‘white bready’ malt middle with slightly buttery effect and some lingering green fruit notes; floral, hayish hop bitter finish with carbonation still tingling on the tongue. Coriander seed, in a ‘dusty spice rack’ kind of way, is very obvious but blends well with the floral qualities of the hops. Ends with the expected warming wodka-ish alcohol glow. A kind of ‘edelbier’ in a sense, very old-fashioned Belgian style, but technically correct and enjoyable enough for what it is.
