Donkergeel bier met schuiom wat snel wegzakt. Smaak is bitter hoppig met iets van gras, wat hout, brett en wat citrus. Een bier met een echt saison karakter.

Draft. A golden beer with a lazing beige head. The aroma has notes of spices, yeast, fruit, and straw. The flavor is sweet with notes of straw, spices, yeast, and fruit, leading to a dry finish.

Bottle from LDW, Eke. Clear/light hazy golden colour, rocky foam. Nose of wet grain, cow fodder, some citrus. Taste starts bitter, malty, some citrus peel. Bit messy. Not very nice. A bit a disappointment.

F: big, white, good retention. C: pale gold, bit hazy. A: malty, vaguely fruity, grassy, bready. T: malty backbone, fruity, decent bitterness, bready, grassy, bit yeasty, medium body and carbonation, not bad but not great for sure, sample from bottle shared with Bierridder_S and his friends @ 25th Bierhappening on Saturday 13/10/2018 in Zottegem.

Sample at Gents Bierfestival. Beer made for Contreras' 200th anniversary, with lacing, large-bubbled but relatively stable, snow white head and clear pure 'old gold' robe. Aroma marred by a strong DMS presence (sulfuric vegetables), disturbing notes of wet cereals, apple peel, grass, raw potato, turnip juice. Clean onset, light apple and green banana impressions, medium carbonated with slick, cereally pale malt sweetish body, grassy and floral hop bitterish note in the finish but the DMS strongly returns retronasally, making it impossible for me to enjoy this - let alone celebrate this respectable old family brewery's anniversary. This is supposed to be a "feestbier"? One of the least attractive Contreras beers ever for me, and I had quite a lot of them throughout the years...

Almost no head; clear copperish golden beer. Smoked nose, smoked ham, hint at spices (cardamom). Again smoked flavour, Rauchmalz, toasted grains, bit cornflakes. Medium bodied, rather slick; medium carbonation. Totally different from the description provided, but not bad at all.
