Winter time! Everybody’s favourite season! Glimmering seas of snow stretching as far as the eye can see. The muffled, but nostalgic sound of traditional carols through your window, as you peacefully sleep in your warm, cozy bed. And big, fluffy snowflakes dancing seductively as they float down on top of everything.
Nevermind shovelling every morning for two hours in the freezing cold. Oh, and drunk kids on vacation shouting after midnight is just great for your beauty sleep!
And the family getting together! And paying half your salary for a damn tree!
Such a swell season! Wow! Magical! At least we got some sweet, gloopy, decadent alcoholic beverages to imbibe on.
And Winter Socks.

12oz bottle pours a mostly clear caramel brown with some sticky, white head. Nose has pine, figs, soap, raisins, dried orange peel. Flavor is malt, bitter with soap and orange, pine, fig, raisin. Finishes bitter and boozy.

Bottle from the September DC RB Tasting. Wax top, crumbled when opened. Poured a kind of light copper color with a small off-white head. Aroma was sweet malts, got some figs, toffee. Flavor was smooth, slightly sweet toffee, caramel, with some maple.

F: medium, bit tan, average retention. C: dark coppery, bit hazy. A: a lot of toffee, caramel, maple syrup, dried figs, bit of chocolate, vanilla, mellow sweet fruity, complex. T: solid malty backbone, dried fruits, maple syrup, bit vinous, vanilla, toffee, not very sweet, aroma is bit better than the taste but still very nice balanced, medium to full body, lower carbonation, good one, fully enjoyed, 33cl bottle (BB: 14/12/2018) from 100 Beers in Sofia, Bulgaria.

330mL bottle at La 100 de Beri, pours a deep dark amber brown with a small beige head. Aroma is loaded with maple and figs upfront, followed by heaps of caramel and toffee. Flavour is quite intense, with heaps of caramel malt paving the way for maple and dried dark fruits. Heavily malted beer but manages to avoid cloying sweetness. Very nicely made.
