With this Hophorn, we try to combine the best from more beerstyles. hop bitterness and aroma from the IPA’s,
the fillness from the malty types and notes from roasted barley like you know it from porters and stouts. The color is like walnut brown – deep and dark.
The bitterness is 135 IBU’s, and we have dry hopped with a lot of hops – 4 different types. The sweetness is from 5 different malts, taste of caramel from crystal malt and notes from the chocolate malt. Hophorn is very tasteful and we recommend tulipglass – it’s the way the beer should be served with it’s beige foam. Hophorn is perfect to cheese. The creamy cheeses, the oldest blue cheeses and the goatcheese. Try it to spicy food, but don’t forget to drink water. Then it all tastes much better. The temperature should be around 12-14 degrees. The beer is unfiltered so there might be some sediment in the bottle.

50cl bottle. dark clody brown, large light brown smooth head. Looks very good. super nice sweet and fresh flowery aroma, hoppy notes, not bitter, but dry, flowery, some citrus and pine, good balance, good sweet malty base that never gets in the way of the hops, but is a canvas to paint hoppy notes on. A hoppy aroma this good is usually only found in american microbrwes. flavor is sweet malty, flowey bitterhoppy syruppy note that reminds me of licorice, notes of caramel and choclate add complexity, but the base flavor is sort of like an IPA, only a bit darker and with some roasted notes. Perhaps the beer is very slighly too sweet for my taste, but it is very tasty and i will miss it when the bottle is soon empty.

Bottled. Clear brown, short head. Was it that dark that it should be a black IPA? Hmm, ok. Like it matters anyway. Good hoppy aroma, some caramel. Nice bitter taste. Decent IPA.

Draught@SBWF2010. Deep rubyish amber colour with mediumsized off-white head. Aroma is fruity and hoppy along with some slight alcohol and toasted notes. Flavour is fruity and floral hops along with some slight sweet maltyness, liquorice, ashes and alcohol. Yet a quite pleasantly balanced brew.
