Keyaki. Dark brown, small golden head. Aroma is roasty, bit of chocolate, hint of pepper. Taste is similar, nice roast, pepper comes through stronger. Little bit of a burnt taste which I quite liked. Chocolate, slight sweetness, but set off by the pepper. Really nice.

Keyaki Fall 2015. Deep brown with a small tan head. Aromas of sansho, chocolate and light roast. Good carbonation and the sansho is a nicely done. Not overly spiced like some of these kinds of beers are. Very enjoyable with good chocolate richness. Dry and peppery finish. --- Beer merged from original tick of Sansho Porter (山椒ポーター) on 21 Sep 2015 at 13:38 - Score: 8

On tap at the Tanabata Fest. 山椒ポーター (Sansho Porter) 5% a light brown with a sansho pepper and chocolate aroma. Medium bodied with a soft round carbonation, it goes down smoothly. The taste is chocolate cookies & green sansho pepper. Pretty nice.

Draught at the brewpub. Dark chocolate brown color. Aroma of chocolate, caramel, some sansho, a touch of citrus. Tasty chocolate, caramel, and sansho blnd in the mouth. The sansho, used fresh, blends in very well and adds a nice citrus touch as well as a peppery spiciness. Works a bit like American hops! Light carbonation for a smooth palate. Very tasty. First beer with prominent sansho that I have liked!
