3 year old version. Chocolate, boozy sweetness, interesting herb and spices. Cherry, wood? Light roast, lots going on. Really good stuff. Smooth and bit thick. Great. I liked this more than others.

Bottle shared. Lots of dark fruit, some saison yeast character. Raisin, dark plums and some fig. Cacao and berry notes as well. Finish was slightly thin. I was lit by this point.

Draft at Craft Heads during the Shiga Kogen Tap Takeover event. Dark brownish black with light tan head. Aromas of caramel, dark fruit, light roast. Tastes of dark fruit, malt, caramel, light roast, light funk. Medium body with a dry finish.

Medium brown and a little bit hazy. Deep fruity, figgy character. Very rich and fruity with lots of brown sugar underneath and even some toast. Complex, deep, rich and tasty. I’m not sure how the brewers envisioned it, but this is a good traditional old ale.

Draught at Tadg’s. I’m quite sure this version was brewed in Japan at Shiga Kogen. Milky, spicey aroma with coriander, nutmeg, citrus and other fruits, Belgian yeast. Big and black with a nice fine tan head. Strong sour, citrus edge to the flavor, a bit too strong, with spices, roasty malts, chocolate, light raisins. Complex and interesting, though a bit weird, and could lose the citrus.
