Bottle from badnewsbeers. Viscous amber body, thin ring of buff carbonation. Honey-dominated nose with banana and clove notes, also hints of butterscotch and toast. Potent, sweet body, with residual sugars, honey, bubblegum, clove and banana with a dryish crackery characteristic. Sweet, estery, and somewhat cloying. The alcohol is pretty well masked but warming.

Pretty orange color. Honey, spice, and wheat aroma. Slightly cloying, honey and wheat flavor. Spicy and very tasty and complex, if slightly too sweet. Dry, finish with slight hop bitterness.

Bottle. A clear, golden beer with a minimal white head. Very fruity and sweet on the nose, alcohol quite evident. Piney, grapefruity notes. Very sweet on the palate, almost oily. Fruity and very sweet flavor with a decent bitterness. Warming finish with lots of sweetness. Too sweet and warming, couldn’t drink a whole bottles I think. 100418

Bottle acquired via trade. The beer pours a mostly clear orange color with a medium fluffy light beige that diminishes steadily. Spotty lacing on the glass. Aroma of caramel, yeast and honey. Medium body that is a little softer than most Barley Wines. Flavors of sweet caramel malt, yeast, and hops. The finish is wheaty with notes of banana and honey. Above average overall.

Bottle from craftbeerdesign. As Terrapin Monster Beer Tour Gamma Ray. Pours amber/honey with a little frothy white head. Aromas of wheat and honey. Suggests breakfast toast. Medium body with mild carbonation. Flavor is sweetish with honey notes, the wheat/malt being rathe subdued. It’s a fun drink, but hardly any compensating bitter. Interesting.

Bottle, $2.95 at Wine Warehouse, Charlottesville. Pours a slightly cloudy deep golden with only a dusting of a head. Smells of sweet grasses and honey. Flavor of grain, sweet grass, burnt-sweet malt, honey, and copper. The longer this is in my glass the less I like it.

Sampled on draft at Bocktown in Robinson Twp PA this beer poured a hazy orange-amber color with a medium sized soapy yellow-white head. The aroma was tart and bitter citrus with noes of banana, clove and fruity hops. The favor was very tangy with noted table sugar, banana, clove and faint citrus. The finish was long, sugary and tangy with clove and citrus lingering. The alcohol shows through a bit and there was a boozy undertone. Full bodies. Very nice.

12oz bottle -pours an off white head and hazy amber/gold color. Aroma is banana, perfumy, herbal. Taste is banana, sweet light malt/grain, spice/herbal hops, alcohol. Some odd traits, but interesting.

Strong banana aroma. Cloudy golden, headless. Full mouthfeel. Immense flavor of banana. Honey and hard candy notes are also present. Light honey finish. Alcohol content is evident but downplayed. Not very complex, no spice, clove, or otherwise, detected. Not especially good when warm, This is great for people who appreciate both barleywines and weizens. A solid weizen bock if not for the higher alcohol content. Lacks the bittering to be a barleywine. I’d actually prefer to call it an american strong ale.

Bottled. A hazy golden beer with a thin beige head. The aroma has strong notes of fruit - peaches and oranges on a malty back ground. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, alcohol, fresh peaches and over ripe fruits, leading to a dry, bitter, and alcoholic finish. Thanks CaptainCougar for coming to Denmark and sharing this.
