Draught at Craft Beer Live, Namba May 23, 2010. Deep, dark, brown, much darker than a marzen should be. Very fruity, chocolatey, caramel aroma. Slightly buttery. Taste also is a bit buttery, sweet, fruity. Tastes reasonably good although it is obviously an ale, it’s kind of what would normally be called an alt in Japan. Sugary, both in nose and taste, obviously a happoshu. It’s not bad, but nothing like a maerzen. Nothing special.
