Bottle. Aroma is cider like, little bit of sourness, bit sweet. Taste is surprisingly nice. Quite light and lots of apple as expected. Light funkiness and the finish goes from little sourness to something a bit more sweet and malty. Seems very cider like until the finish which moves back into beer territory. I probably like this more than I should.

Bottle from a set on rakuten. now 4% Served in a flute type glass. Drunk side by side with their regular Apple Lager. Looks almost identical to the regular Apple Lager, just a few SRM points deeper gold. This has a more pronounced apple aroma than the regular, tart apples and yeast that makes me think of vanilla yoghurt in a good way. Medium body, sweet taste kind of sake like. Tart, yeasty, apples. In the crystal the malts don’t show up so much. In this beer the yeast & apples are the star of the show. For two beers that have almost identical names and look almost the same as well the difference in taste is very noticeable. This beer verges on a cider, actually they made a cider too(7%!) I wish I’d kept it for this tasting. The sweetness can get a touch cloying as you finish the bottle but pretty good though too sweet and not so beer like. Also not as clean tasting as their regular apple lager...

Bottle from Yamaoka. Light yellow color with lace. Sweet aroma, soft, biscuity piilsner malts, caramel, apple. Not unpleasant. Very sweet flavor, with lots of apple and a bit of peppery hops. Soft, light malts come with a nicely bitter finish. Refreshing and flavorful but way too sweet.
