Bottle from Hasegawa. Caramel forward nose with some brown sugar and lightly toasted tomitsu. Taste is fairly sweet on the palate. Very malt driven beer. Some bitterness in there as it warms up. Maybe a roasty bitterness I guess. Bittersweet finish that coats the palate. Not bad.

Bottle from Yamaoka. 2010 version. Sweet, malty, caramel aroma is stronger than in the original. Dark brown with orange tints and a medium, tan, fine head. Malty, rich, caramel flavor with a bit of chocolate as well. Hops less intense than in the original. Rather chewy. Nice bitter-roasty finish with just enough hops. Nice bitter finish last a long while. Definitely on the sweeter, maltier side, but still well balanced and nice.
