Our Big Eye IPA is a big hoppy brew, thanks to the abundance of American Columbus and Centennial varieties we use to flavor and dry hop. While the English originally added extra hops to preserve their beers for sea travel, we do it for the love of all that bold, intense flavor that makes India Pale Ale one of our favorite styles.

Bottle. Pours clear copper/amber with creamy offwhite head. Aroma is bitter grapefruit with notes of fudge and cream. Also notes of spruce, peach, melon, malt and spice (coriander & nutmeg). Taste is medium bitter, light acidic, light umami and light sweet. Body is light creamy (milky) with soft carbonation. Finish is long, bitter and dry with notes of citrus (lemon, lime, grapefruit, pomelo), but also spruce, resin, pine seeds, fudge, milk, flowers, perfume and faint hints of sweet licorice. Great mouthful and excellent complexity!

Multiple samples @ Empire Brew Fest. Flavor is resinous/pine, caramel, slight citrus. Bitterness is a bit on the harsh side. Very dry texture, medium to light body with soft carbonation and a dry and long lingering bitter finish. I fell the Sculpin is the much better IPA.

Draught. Orange cloudy with thick white head. Hoppier than a Cape Ale, this is an English style IPA. Citrus hop flavour, citrus aroma and finish. Drink this if you find it.
