Our Big Eye IPA is a big hoppy brew, thanks to the abundance of American Columbus and Centennial varieties we use to flavor and dry hop. While the English originally added extra hops to preserve their beers for sea travel, we do it for the love of all that bold, intense flavor that makes India Pale Ale one of our favorite styles.

A lovely balanced nose throws up caramel, tangerine, marshmallow, and more than a whiff of Swedish sauna. In the mouth, the hops are big but not overpowering, with grapefruit, a pleasant soft orange and a little caramel. A lovely IPA.

Draft. Cloudy deep golden body with amber highlights. Frothy off-white head, mostly lasting. Aroma of citrus, grapefruit, resin, pine, toasted grain, dough. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly to moderately bitter. It finishes lightly to moderately sweet and moderately bitter, a bitterness that lasts into the finish. Medium body, watery texture turning velvety, lively carbonation. Pine and resin are dominant in the taste, overshadowing grapefruit and orange flavors.

355ml bottle. Clear orange amber colour, foam white head leaving some lacing and an orangey resin hop aroma. Taste is inital sweetish orange, grapefruit, mango, melon, pine resin, with floral notes, balanced against a caramel malt backbone and leaving a lingering dry bitterness. Smooth oily body and medium carbonation. Very drinkable american IPA.

Pours a golden amber, with short-lived white head. Tropical fruits on the nose, teeth-coating bitterness when drinking, but finishes a lot smoother than I’d expect. Really good.

An orangebrown beer with an almost medium and blond head. Aroma of sweet tropical fruits, peaches, caramell, citrusfruits and some pine needles, slighlty heavy aroma, almost like an DIPA. Tasteof tropical fruits, peaches, nice sweetness, grapefruity and pine hoppyness. Enough of bitterness, but not too attacking, balanced. Medium bodied, nicely to drink. Quite nice and balanced IPA, slightly sweet.

Bottle. Pours a clear gold with small creamy white head leaving spotty lacing along the glass. The aroma is a strong floral hop. Thin mouthfeel with a sweet hop and honey with light bitterness in the finish. Easy to drink, a very good IPA from Ballast Point.
