Poured Black with thick beige head. Hoppy aroma with citrus and a bit of forest. Hoppy flavour with toast and roast malts. Smooth malt finish with a large hop edge

Draught at Deschutes Brewery and Public House in Portland. Porter-like aroma, with a bit of burnt malt, big hops, chocolate. Lacks direction and balance.

On Tap at the PDX BP Very dark brown with a thin but lasting, sandy colored head. West coast hoppy, citrusy aroma with surprisingly little of the roasted aroma I was expecting given its color. The flavor betrayed the roasted barly that lent it it’s color. Still this is clearly an IPA that tasted fressh and zesty. The slight roasted flavors were just enough to lend a little interesting slant to it.
