DBA—a.k.a. Double Barrel Ale—is the trailblazing flagship beer that started it all for us back in 1996. Partially fermented in our patented Firestone Union oak-‐barrel brewing system, DBA quickly took the Central Coast by storm and set the pace for future beers to come. Today, DBA is regarded as a California classic, and stands as an iconic tribute to traditional cask-‐fermented English ales. Pale malts create a smooth middle with ribbons of caramel, English toffee and toasted oak.

Can: Pours clear, bubbly amber/orange with a creamy, beige, nitro-like head. Aroma of toffee, a little bread crust. Taste is soft and dry, toffee malt. Creamy. Very pleasant.

It's all right. Can see what you're trying to do with the Nitro to mimic a traditional hand-pulled British bitter but it doesn't quite work. Aromas are malt a bit of roast and a whiff of hops. Flavors are much like nose with a mildly bitter finish.

12oz can as Nitro DBA. Wow. Nitro soft body really accentuates the English feel. Medium bodied, always drinkable. Soft oak tones and thicker malts. Great beer. Really nails it. Hyper sessionable. We need more beers like this in the US.

Bottle. Amber to bronze colour. Moderate white head. Aroma: not much of, especially being served cold. You can feel far caramel, hoppy and estery hints. Medium minus body. Taste: very clean, moderately dry. Nice special malts, evident grassy hopping. Restrained fruit. Well-tasting one.
