Bottle. Potato, bit of sweetness, medicinal. Not sure why they put potato in all their beers. Guess it's their USP. Think I preferred the red one.

Bottle from my buddy Brian shipped to me from Kagoshima. A clear bright bass color with a white head of foam. The aroma is bready malts, sweet with a spicy sugary quality I guess comes from the sweet potato. That surgary charact is a bit artificial but not terribly so. Medium to light bodied with a syrupy texture. The taste is very sugary sweet like some kind of powdered candy but you also get a more typical lager like bready malt sweetness and it finishes quite dry. It’s a weird beer, not as bad as some online reviews painted it to be but too sweet and if that is coming from the sweet potato it is definitely clashing with the other ingredients.

Bottle shared at "Tokyo Ratebeer Dark Tickers of The World Unite or AJB tasting volume 1" event. Thanks Neil! Nougat aromas with big marshmallow notes and cough medicine as it warms. Average carbonation with a medium body. Sweet with a dry and chalky finish. --- Beer merged from original tick of Satsuma Gold on 05 Mar 2016 at 19:19 - Score: 1. Bottled. Hazy pale golden, brief head. Fruity nose. Sweetish, fruity amd grainy with light-medium body and well rounded mouthfeel. Grassy mild finish Didn´t get much sweet potato here.

A pilsner type beer with Japanese Sweet Potato in it. Decent pilsner-like aroma, slightly buttery, with rich malts and medium hopping. Rather sweet, but not too much so, with sweet potatoes. Clear, slightly amber-tinged, with a low white head. Sweet, rich flavor, with malts and sweet potatoes. Light bitterness, but good hop aroma, and the finish could be drier. Decent, though, and not overly sweet at all. Reminiscent of a good helles. Rather full-bodied; very interesting and tasty.
