Hideji Stout 4.5% Bottle from Miyazaki airport 2nd floor souvenir corner. A seasonal release for about 620¥, drunk while waiting for my take out to be ready. It pours out with a thick viscousity and tan head. Fairly full mouthfeel and roasty chocolate goodness on a velvety body. A lovely roasty oats and cacao aroma. The nicest miyazaki beer I’ve had all trip.

Bottle. Smokey, woody aroma with coffee, chocolate, and caramel. Medium roasting, quite complex. Pitch black with a lovely, fine, tan head. Very creamy, rich flavor, medium roasting, rather sweet, with cream, chocolate, café au lait, caramel. Very rich and well balanced. Thick, rich mouth as well. One of the best light stouts I have had lately.

Bottled. Very black, rich beige head. Chocolatey nose with some paper and spices. Dryish and a bit medicinal with coca powder and milk chocolate. Low bitterness. Mild and pleasant, but well medicinal.

Dark brown color, hazelnuts, brownies and flowers jump from the nose. Smooth mouth with brownies and hazelnuts. Mildly sweet, but balanced. Nice.
