Bottle from Yamaoka that says Yamizo Morino Beer Weizen 5%. Mildly opaque brassy gold with a wheaty clove aroma that has hints of tangy fruit - so far so good. Medium bodied with a raspy carbonation. The taste is solid, lots of cloves, chewy wheat and some cookie like malt character in the finish/aftertaste. I like it.

Bottle from Setagaya Summer Festival 2015. Pours somewhat amberish pale, not much foam and even if I try, I cannot get a foam top that would stay long enough. Aroma is wheaty, some pure metal and a hint of cloves. Taste is quite light, banana goes over to fruity aftertaste, at the end its a bit stale but overall, quite OK. Simple and even almost balanced weizen, good refreshment.

Keg at the brewery in Daigo, Ibaraki, Japan. This brewery is in a very scenic location and looked splendid with the autumn colours against the blue sky. A hazy golden coloured pour with a small off white head on top. Banana, spice, yeasty aroma. Tastes of banana, spice, wheaty, slightly sweet. A bit thin but it was OK.

bananas, cloves, a touch of burnt nose. Light tart, but way too much phenols. Why over the top with phenols. Like a cider. Very unbalanced. Blah.

Relatively mild and clean aroma, bananas, cloves, just a touch of citrus. Seems to have a high percentage of barley malt. Slightly dark gold color, but with a small head and lots of large bubbles. Medium rich wheat malt flavor, slightly earthy as well. Slightly thin and spritzy body. Not bad but too thin and light and not enough wheat flavor.
