Dark amber color, small white head. Slightly hoppy, light toasted notes. Medium-bodied. Caramel, some toasted notes. Lingering light bitterness in the aftertaste. A bit conservative.

Bottle @ home, courtesy of a chill trader bro. Pours a clear reddish brown appearance with a creamy, lasting brown head. Roasty chocolate, a touch smoky, caramelized grainy, light coffee aroma. Creamy mouthfeel. Dark chocolate, a touch metallic, cola, burnt, a touch smoky, sweet malty flavor. Doesn’t blow me away but it is enjoyable.

Bottle poured into a snifter. Pours black with minimal head. Aroma of coffee and chocolate with slight woody notes. Taste is light bitter and light sweet. Coffee, chocolate and a bit of wood. Full bodied with a slick texture. Soft carbonation and a very long finish. Overall, pretty darn good.

Bottled@PBF VIII. Slightly hazy ambery brown colour with small off-white head. Aroma is wood, canilla, caramel and some slight wooden notes. Flavour is fruity, some slight roasted notes along with quite strong tart wooden notes. This left a bit strange in my books.

65 cl bottle @ PBF VIII
Aroma has sweetish woody notes, some caramel, toasted notes and vanilla. Flavour has sweet caramel and toffee notes. Also some vanilla and wood. Definitely not your typical stout. Also makes me wonder what barrel was used since I cannot taste it.

650ml bottle @ PBF 2013
Pours clear brown with a small head. Aroma of sweet syrup, caramel, hints of hops, ash and fruits. Taste is sweet, grassy and grainy with hints of syrup, caramel and roastiness. Finish is bitter, grassy and grainy. A bit untypical and unbalanced.

Bottle. Pours a dark copper with medium beige head leving spotty lacing. Aroma of strong roast, coffee bean, and chocolate. Thin mouthfeek with rich chocolate and roast with sweet finish. Good.

Slutfest 2013: Smells of clay, shitty. Clear tea colored, medium yellow head. Clay and grass flavor, still shitty. Disappointing. Some of these Barrel series are pretty good, but not this one.
