Bottle at the airport. Grainy, flour, bit sweet, low excitement. Bland but not offensive. Not crisp enough.

Tap @ BeerFes Yokohama, September 17th, 2017. Pours clear golden with a thin white film that does not stay. Light sweetish biscuity nose, fresh but not very hoppy. Taste has light sweetness, gentle touch of noble hops. Quite drinkable and nice pilsner, served in a good conditiin. Quaffable although not that interesting.

Can from Chitose airport. Pours a clear gold with a nice white head that hangs around for bit. Nose is grain and some ripe fruit left on the vine with a hint of pepper. Taste is light and crackery with a nice crispness. Not watery at all. Nice body. Peppery finish that lingers. Not bad. --- Beer merged from original tick of Pirkawakka Pilsner on 06 Aug 2015 at 19:24 - Score: 6

Pilsner 5% Bottle from Isetan served in a pilsner glass. Pouring a brilliant gold with a foamy short-lasting head. The nose is bready sour with light earthy hop caracter upon opening the bottle. Light bodied with a slightly undercarbed mouthfeel & semi-dry finish. The taste is alright earthy herbal hoppiness, grassy, light crackery malts. It grew on me though the nose wasn’t so appealing.

Bottle from Chitose airport. Deep golden color, frothy tall white head, clear. Malty, cereal-rich aroma, with some fruitiness and hops. Straightforward malt taste, pretty good hops. A touch of fruit. Quite a bit grainy. A touch of butter creaminess. Hops dominate. Bitter, long-lasting hop finish. It is a reasonably good beer, not fantastic, but a great dose of hops.
