This delightfully floral American style Amber Ale displays a wonderful balance while still maintaining a profound hoppy goodness. We load this beer with a ridiculous and obscene amount of West Coast hops that are added late in the boil resulting in a hoppy beer without any bitterness.

Can. Pours a cloudy amber with a medium off white head leaving sticky lacing along the glass. The aroma is floral hop and pine. Medium mouthfeel with a strong hop and light citrus and decent bitter finish. A decent amber from Crazy Mountain.

My third can from this brewery. First was the Wit which was above average, then the Pale which was below average. This leaves me with the amber, which for me is generally not a preferable style (mostly forgettable and I generally dislike the amount of crystal malt in moth examples). As an old friend of mine once said about the generic brewpub amber ale: they are the graphic-t of the beer industry. Rant mostly over; on to the beer. No packaging date easily visible. Straight pour yields a deeper copper-bronze hued body. Crystal/filtered levels of clarity. Medium amber I guess. Frothy, low to medium head. Some retention, average lace. Aromas are hoppy at first: piney, citrus, low pineapple, grapefruit, followed by the malt: bready, toasty, medium caramel but mostly base, light nutty. Very floral, medium-low esters on par for an American yeast or a low temp fermented 007. Very flowery. This beer screams old school PNW. Flavors are very iced tea like, floral, caramel malt, nutty, bready, medium orange to citrus malt, a hint of diacetyl. Piney and green spruce towards the back. Very old fashioned, pretty fresh, but nothing new. The nutty malt character gets a touch tannic as it warms in the finish (minor). Medium carbonation (lower than expected...altitude might have something to do with it?). Some floral and medium esters towards the finish. Dry. Medium bodied. Okay.

Lightly hazy amber - soapy lace - aroma or caramel, toast, light esters, a lot of odd earthiness, like soil and rotting leaves - carbonation is low - body is watery and thin - medium sweet, with toffee and toasted bready malt - light fruity esters - moderate to low bitterness - tail and brings much of the odd earthiness from the nose (damp soil, leafiness) and stale hops - tastes dirty - not exactly enjoyable.

Can @ home. Dark copper appearance with an off white head. Toasty, caramel, biscuity malty, a touch piney, earthy hoppy aroma. Biscuity, bready, caramel malty, mild to moderately earthy hoppy flavor. Solid amber ale.
