24/10/2024. Bottle from Lopia Kyoto Yodobashi Supermarket. Pours unclear amber brown with a small frothy off-white head. Unattractive pour. Aroma is malty, caramel, fruity, biscuit, nutty, plummy, dried fruits. Medium sweetness, moderate bitterness and body. Quite fizzy. Not amazing but not bad.

Bottle. Aroma is fruit, toffee, maltiness. Taste is quiet sweet, lots of malt, maybe a bit milky(!), toffee, soft and easy drinking. Possibly some hoppiness lurking, but only just a hint of it. Pretty easy going beer.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Na’ama’s place. Thanks Na’ama. Clear amber. Aroma of malt, caramel, light alcoholic hint. Sweetish flavor with malt, a bit of caramel, and a bitter finish.

Bottle (bought in Gifu, sampled in Tokyo)
Dark ruby color, creamy beige head, some lace. Sweet caramalt aroma. Medium-bodied. Sweetish, caramel, a bit grainy maltyness. This "amber ale" (altbier??) has certain industrial vibe in it.

330 ml bottle from Takashimaya @ Nagoya Station. Pours deep amber with a nice head - that goes away fast, leaving some nice lacing on the glass. Aroma is very malty, but also filling your nostrils with a thick, almost soapy sensation. Some fruity undertones also there. Taste is quite smooth, bitterness mellow. Soapiness still there but also malt biscuits and light bitterness in the aftertaste. Medium-bodied, easygoing beer - won’t remember much about this one but it feels fine at the moment.

Rather dark reddish brown color, with a medium sized off-white head. Seems to have staying power. Amber malt aroma with caramel, nuts, earthy. Earthy, slightly nutty flavor with a bit of caramel. Not too sweet at all, good dryness. Hops noticeable behind the dryish malt. Very well balanced, quite nice indeed. A dry, low-profile alt, and as such is nice but it could use a bit more malt richness and a touch of sweetness for balance. A bit simple and unexciting, but nonetheless well done. Very drinkable.

Deep amber with a small and vanishing, tan head. Light, dark fruits, malty, sweet, and an unfortunate hint of finger nail polish. Thin body. Acidic bitterness over a malty, dark fruit flavor. I can’t say I enjoyed this beer all that much.
