The nose is sherry, some malt with a slightly harsh ethanol/nail varnish edge. Medium bodied with a decent carbonation. The taste is off, sherry, nutty, metallic, sour, not good. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On tap at the 2008 Micro Brewers Festa in Hiroshima. A very malty, non-bitter English bitter. Closer to a brown ale in my mind, but: Dark amber to medium brown color, with a huge malt / caramel nose. No hops really in the nose. Again, malt-centered, caramel, flavor, sweet but refreshing. Very light bittering hops. The malt complexity won the day for me. For licensing purposes, these beers are categorized as "Happoshu," which means a good percentage of something other than barley malt. Don’t know if it is wheat or sugar or unmalted barley.
