HUNTER, our creamy double milk stout with cocoa nibs and lactose is a beer so sumptuous it demands respect. In part two of our HUNTER VERTICAL SERIES, we added whole vanilla beans to complement its roastiness with an elegant rounded flavor.

Tasting at Ferris’
Black color with medium sized head, quickly dissipating. The aroma has chocolate and a nice note of hazelnut, then perfumy vanilla. Full bodies, with soft mouthfeel; moderately sweet, rich chocolate flavor, the vanilla is a bit too much, there are traces of tobacco; some roasted nuts in the final.
Nice, a bit over the top.

Bottle shared at a tasting at Max’s place. Black with a brown head. Aroma of roast, some cocoa, coffee and vanilla. Sweetish roast flavor with cocoa, some coffee, lactose notes, vanilla, and a bitterish finish. Medium to full-bodied, quite smooth and rounded. Very good.

Bomber bought @ Kihoskh. Pours viscous pitch black with a small mocha head that leaves some sparse trace on the glass while dissipating. Smell is malty with roasted malts, burnt caramel, toasted cereal, dark chocolate, sweetened coffee, vanilla milkshake and hints of moist soil, minerals, ash and burnt wood. Taste is sweet, heavy bitter and malty. Mouthfeel is soft, slightly viscous, astringent, tiny boozy and medium to full bodied. Finish is sweet and bitter with roasted malts, toasted cereal, dark roast coffee, bitter chocolate, vanilla milkshake, moist soil, ash and burnt wood. Perhaps a bit rough most likely from the vanilla and roast combined. Not the best in the these series but a tasty beer nonetheless.

Bottle shared by Joes & Judyvv @ "Zunt Om Nog Langer Te Bewaren" tasting (ZONLTB). Opaque pitch black color, medium sized dark brown head. Aroma is malts, lightly vanilla, some roast and a hint of dark fruits. Taste malts, roasted malts, vanilla, some bitter. Decent body and carbonation. Well, it’s ok and indeed vanilla but not really spectacular imo.
