Bottle shared at chriso’s pre-Christmas tasting. Pours clear brown with a creamy beige head. The nose has a lot of milk chocolate, mild roast, dark fruits. Light-medium sweet flavor with a bit of char roast, some smoke, dusty cocoa, earth. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Dry and fairly bitter to finish with bittersweet cocoa, moderate roast, further earth. Not bad.

On cask at the Guildford Arms. Appearance - opaque brown to black with a lovely fawn head. Nose - dark chocolate with an edge of liquorice or even charcoal. Taste - dark chocolate confirmed but less of the drier notes from the nose. Palate - medium bodied with a creamy texture and a fairly good finish. Overall - yeah an enjoyable porter.
