Shiga Kogen India Miyama Lager Cold IPA 6% Nice gold color with a rocky white head of foam and a bright peppery fruity hop bouquet. Medium bodied and smooth with a very dry finish. The taste is surprisingly bitter in the unit it so with the sweetness following on from it. Solid beer.

Shiga Kogen India Miyama Lager 6% An opaque gold with a dense white head of foam and a mild aroma (served too cold?). The beer is medium to full bodied with a herbal lightly spicy green hop bouquet. It’s pretty bitter with a crisp finish. I’d say it’s a ramped up classic European lager but much less so than American takes on the style as this uses a more classic type of hop profile. —— Dec 2022 version ———- Shiga Kogen India Miyama Lager Cold IPA 6% Nice gold color with a rocky white head of foam and a bright peppery fruity hop bouquet. 330 ml bottle. Nice clear yellow golden pour with some white foam there. Herbal hoppy nose, fresh and some grains supporting it from the malty side. Tastes super clear, herbal bitterness giving some spark, refreshing and just a very well made, nicely fresh and grassy lager. Shiga Kogen rocks also with this one, not boring.

Bottle from Yamaoka. Started off with very pissy hops, lemony, I guess Nelson Sauvin. They were a bit herbal too. Malt is crackery, snappy. Slightly hazy brilliant golden color. Flavor is hoppy and crisp, light with the rice, crackery. Again the hops are a bit too pissy for my taste, but lemony. Almost sense DMS but not sure. Probable the rice. Finish is quite bitter. As it warmed and opened up, the hops got more enjoyable and in the end I quite liked it.
