Bottle from Drankenhandel Leiden. Aroma is immediate Bourbon barrel with vanilla, oak, dark malt, caramel, raisins, toffee, mild roast, dried fruity notes, and more Bourbon throughout. Flavour is sweet with a mild bitterness. Body is medium, lighter than I expected. Bit creamy, Bourbon is really in your face. Has the caramel toffee & raisins of a Quad, not as roasty as I'd like. That being said, this is a fine brew.

Notes from October 2012 3.9/5 rDev -3.7% look: 3.5 - smell: 3.5 - taste: 4 - feel: 4.5 - overall: 4 4-pack from Whole Foods. Rounded pint glass. Dimpled stein at the ready just in case things get serious. Brown on black body. Ho-hum tan head. Smells sticky. Melted malt balls & licorice sticks. Macerated brown bread. Chocolate cherries. Milky texture, very lightly carbed. Lots of residual, warming booze(a bit too potent, but not harsh). Anise. Toffee & wood. Puff of ashy smoke & earthy bitterness on the finish. Even better on cask. :)

Bottle from HoTM. Shocked I haven't had/rated this already. The aroma is rich roasted malt, dark roasted coffee, cookie dough, rocky road, vanilla, milk chocolate, toffee, nutty bourbon and chocolate bourbon biscuits. The taste is dry roasted malt, bitter - sweet, earthy roast, milk chocolate, nutty, praline, chocolate bourbons, cookie dough, rocky road, toffee, mars bar, touch of alcohol boozey fun and some damp oak with a warming and roasty finish. Medium - fulsome body, fine+ carbonation. Quite decent. Not as much depth as I had hoped, but it gives a good buzz.

355ml bottle, brought back from California by my wife and shared with Andy (AndyTF2) at my place on Easter Saturday, 30th March 2024. Considering the hype this beer has I was slightly disappointed. It wasn't as boozy, rich or slick as I had assumed, it was OK, but not the smooth silky Stout I was expecting. There was only a weak Bourbon influence and the 11% ABV didn't jump out at me at all.
