12 oz. bottle, 11.0% ABV, Bottled: 02/0723
AROMA: Sweet and boozy. I'm first hit with moderate amounts of salted caramel, chocolate and dark fruit (e.g. raisins or prunes), that is then followed by hints of vanilla and oak. The aroma definitely makes me want to dive right in and start drinking!
APPEARANCE: Pours an opaque black, with a very short, dirty-tan head that dissipates slowly and has moderate lacing. For such a good looking beer, it's a shame that the head doesn't have more height. As it is, I would describe it as "barely there". However, I am impressed by how long that tiny head takes to dissipate.
TASTE: Very sweet, but just stops short of being cloyingly sweet. I'm first hit with hefty flavors of chocolate and bourbon, that is then followed by hints of vanilla and dark fruit. The finish is moderate with more dark fruit flavor and some bourbon "tang". Other than the sweetness level, if I had to nit-pick, I would suggest that the vanilla and bourbon flavors be upped just a little. Right now, they are there, but just barely.
MOUTHFEEL: Full-bodied with a smooth and luxuriously creamy texture. Carbonation is a little below average, which I find a little odd but it seems to work for this beer. The texture of this beer is just "dreamy". Smooth, creamy, and goes down oh-so-easy! On this aspect, I have absolutely zero to complain about. In fact, I can't even find anything to nit-pick!
OVERALL: I've tried my fair share of Imperial Stouts and have found most of them to be so obnoxiously sweet, that I find it difficult to drink an entire beer. This is not one of those Imperial Stouts. Yes, this beer is sweet. But I find it to be at an acceptable level, even after it has warmed to room temperature (which is when most beers are their sweetest). However, any sweeter, and I'm not sure I would be able to enjoy it.
The only other "issue" I had was with the thin head, which really wasn't much of an issue at all. It just makes it a little less attractive to look at. But once you start drinking the beer, who really cares what it looks like? Not me, that's for sure.
I find this to be a top-notch beer and I will DEFINITELY be buying more of it in the future.
Prune, raisin, toffee, nice barrel. Held up well for 10 years.

0.355l bottle thanks to Lore. Black body with a tiny pearl head. Aroma and taste of chocolate, cocoa, bourbon, oak, nutmeg and some floral hops. The alcohol is well hidden. Nice one.

Bottle. Very dark brown with a dense cm of of light tan head. Plenty of Bourbon and caramel in the aroma with hints of singed toffee & Vegemite. Upon a sip you start to wonder whether there's any roasted malt at all, but the toast and caramel are pleasant enough before drying and somewhat spicy oak. Interesting, kind of weak in the middle.

Bottle ordered from Premier Hop, Pudsey. Aroma is dominated by the sweet edged bourbon. Underlying creaminess and liqourice. Dark and oily. Foamy beige head soon shrinks away. Initial boozy bite with drop liqourice. Smooths out - a notch - to reveal underlying creamy sugary coffee. Roasty. Caustic - good caustic. Medium-heavy bodied. Creamy. Average carbonation. Long astringent finish. This beer is first fight between a creamy milk stout and the arrogant bourbon.

Review based on the BJCP2015 guidelines (style 33B: bourbon - base: 20C). Bottle 35.5 cl - Batch unknown - BBF unknown (Bottled on 12/05/18). AROMA: medium-high boozy aroma with a vinous and bourbon character. low roasted malt background. APPEARANCE: dark brown color with ruby highlights and opaque. low beige head with low retention. lace formation. TASTE: similar to the aroma with initial medium bourbon barrel, vinous, followed by low roasted malt (dark chocolate). medium-low bitterness with a dry and faintly burnt finish. MOUTHFEEL: medium-high body with low carbonation. OVERALL: a barrel aged muted imperial stout with too much alcoholic presence.

deep dark brown colour, large creamy beige head, which lasts for several minutes; aroma of chocolate, hazelnut, cocoa, honey and some whisky notes; taste of dark chocolate, hazelnut and intensive alcoholic-whisky notes; great one!

W pierwszym niuchu zajefajna beczka bourbonowa, taka klasyczna, a la bcbs. Potem teoche sie ulatnia. Czeko, palonosc, ciemne owoce, srednio- ciala, dosc chlalne, alko niezle schowane. B smaczne puwi, ale tez troche zawod. Zwlaszcza po tym pierwszym niuchu
