Appearance - 6 | Aroma - 7 | Flavor - 6 | Texture - 4 | Overall - 6.5

I get cream, pepper and dirty socks in the aroma, so we're off to a unique start. When I breathe in through my mouth, I get pinewood, as if I'm in an icy sauna. It's a little peppery in the mouth but the length is quite short.

Bottle, 11C. Amber with a fat cap of white head. Aroma of oranges, woody spices, bread. Nice soft texture with the woodiness meeting the bitterness at the end to finish the moderate bready sweetness. As is their wont, quite spicy.

Bottle from online shop Yamaichi. Nose is cedar (sugi), with the same minerally infection nose as the Genryu. CLoudy, deep orange, muddy looking. Sugi flavor, minerals, some caramel and citrus. Not as contaminated as the mild, and the cedar helps cover it up, but certainly infected with the same bug. Damn, I hope the rest of the bottles are better!
