Think of Roasted Rye as the best of an India Pale Ale and a Winter Warmer wrapped up in the same beer. Citrus and tangerine in the nose are supported by chocolate, caramel, and coffee-like roasted notes from the five different malts we use. A favorite among many members of our team, this was the beer that started it all for us as homebrewers back in 2010.

Pint can. Amber in color, large beige head. Nose is light roast and malty. Nice flavor of roast and light piney hops. Rye? Reminds me of a CDA more than anything.

Ruby red. Hops aren’t that big in the nose and the rye is muddled. Over not balanced. Too much rye.

Can shared by the brewer - a Spurs fan! At the Bottle shop, 22/02/18. Reddish amber with a decent beige cap. Nose is caramel malts, pine needle, candied fruits, straw, biscuit. Taste comprises caramel wafer, blood orange, toasted malts, perfume, grains. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with balanced hop bitterness. Decent.

Damn fine glass of beer--citrus up front, rich spicy caramel, really impressive.

Bottle thanks to Lizzie and Daren! Pours a clear deep copper with a tan head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma is full of a nice rye note with grass, a bit of pine and a hint of chocolate underlying. Flavor has lots of roasted rye with grass and pine notes backing.

Can. Hazy reddish amber beer, small cream colour head. Palate is soft and mildly dry, decent fine carbonation. Soft malts but with plenty of rye tang, trace of bitter toffee. Litter bitter orange peel. Light dry finish. Pretty drinkable.
