Bottle from Yamaoka. A mellow glowing gold with a fizzy head that dissipated fast. The aroma was fruity rich then became full on prickly spicy clove. Full bodied but bone dry with a sofa bread malt character as well as honey and spice. A fun version this year, very drinkable. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Thanks TimE for sharing the can! Poured into a snifter showing moderately filtered pale gold with no head. The nose shows moderately intense notes of sweet sake. The palate is well carbonated and medium bodied. Moderately intense flavors of sweet sake yeast.

A bit surprised this was a gusher. Golden amber color with no head. Amazingly funky nose of stewed vegetables, apricots, bread, winter melon, cherries, very esoteric with the yeast character just huge. Wow. Nothing like I’ve had in the past. Medium low carbonation. Malty. Very low hops. Slight sweet sake yeast lingers in the finish and a bit warming.

Can from Hasegawa Liquors, drank from a plastic cup at Narita Airport, Terminal 2. Pours cloudy golden, some white foam on top but not too much of it. Aroma is screaming "RICE", lot's of rice character, that lightly bitter, grandma's closet thing. Yeasty. tastes smooth, sweetish, resembling some sturdy bock beers. Warming and at the same time quite smooth. Surprisingly tasty, I do enjoy this. Finish is quite abrupt, just light sourness and dry tongue. One of the best rice beers I have had.

Tap at YYG. Pretty, cloudy orange, with lace. Nose is peaches, oranges, awesome nose, some pear as well. Sweet, rich, fruity, with nice acidic side to balance. Love it.
