Surprisingly nice, caramelly with a bit of lemon in there. Smooth and easy going. Much prefer it to their other recent IPA can. Bit of berry sweetness, something interestingly funky. Good stuff!

A newish release from Echigo joining the Flying Dragon beer in their cartoony label series that seems aimed at foreign exports. I've heard not so good things about this one but on first look and whiff it seems not too bad. A deep orange in color with a fluffy light beige head. The aroma gives white grape and pine. Full bodied this is bitter pine, caramel biscuits and some butterscotch. Not as bad as I'd been told though as it warmed the diacetyl butterscotch and pithy pine bitterness started to get to be a bit much though the aftertaste was nice and fruity. I don't think I was able to finish the can though...

Can from Seijo Ishii. Crappy nose or burnt sugar and pine resins. Heavy and resiny with pine, caramel, again something like burnt sugar. And yes, I get the soapiness that other speak of. A bit of citrus. I really don't get this. What is this company thinking? They have two IPAs in cans that are available all over Japan and they both suck.

Can from my local AEON Liquor. Pours amber with some light beige foam. Quite clear. Nose has some yoghurt, soft baby puke and just a hint of hops. Well, does not sound too great and frankly, its not. Tastes soft, little caramel there, some rowan berries bitterness and lightly bitter grassy hops. Quite astringent bitterness in the finish, lingering. Not for me.
