Passion Weisse

Taster at the source lemon yellow with a thin white head. Aromas of juicy passion fruit and tart lacto. Taste follows tart fruit and lemon with a clean finish.

Draught at the brewpub. Humongous passion fruit nose, only that at first, more citrus and grassy hops later. Deep pastel yellow, glowing, with lace. Nicely sour flavor, huge passion fruit, a bit of lactic acid. Sharp, light, body is a bit dull, not all that beery at first beyond the passion fruit, but the hops and malt came out more as it warmed and opened. Delicious, if more fruit-driven than I prefer.

Moderately hazy, muted brass with a large, beige and light pink-flecked head showing strong retention for the "style".
Lactic acid combines nicely with the passion fruit, which is authentic/natural and full of a good balance of earthy notes, tartness and juiciness. Wheat in the background somewhat softens things and there is no alcohol or flaw.
Immediately quite tart with a very full carbonation that benefits from some breathing. Juicy, dry, tart notes of passion fruit, kiwi, nectarine and lactic acid are nicely homogenized and the texture shows wheat softness and a good deal of lip-smacking acidity on the end, with tons of enjoyable passion fruit flavors lingering. No alcohol or flaw.
