Booze. Bit of cardboard. Light fruit and malt. It's at best, alright.

330ml bottle from Kyoto. Pours dark reddish orange with a foamy head. Aroma of glue, earthy notes, caramely malts and herbal hops. Taste is earthy, sweet and sticky with some caramel and herbal hops. Finish is sweet, caramely and stuffy with some earthiness, malts and toffee. Sweetish and stuffy.

Marking IPA Day means I should crack out my IPA glass and scour the fridge for an IPA. This is Far Yeast first beer Brewer at their new brewery. Bottle from Yamaoka. A dark brown orange with a dense beige head. The aroma is a bit rough around the edges but gives you fruity US hops. Medium to light bodied with a fairly sharp finish. The taste is a bit sweet from the crystal malts while the taste is tangerine and stone fruit. It’s ok...

Bottle from Yamaoka. Resiny, citrus hop nose with caramel malt, toasty. Old school but smells nice enough. There is a bit of tropical fruit in there too. Dark amber-orange with a tall, fine head. Fruity, minerally, citrus, apples, a bit off I think, acetaldehyde and that minerally, airy thing that often comes with a light infection. Dry overall, though some caramel and sweet fruit. Dry finish. Has some issues, but it is their first beer to make themselves at the new brewery, and as such is not too bad, though needs to be dialed in a bit.
