Tap at Gremlin. Interesting for a Sakura beer. Aroma is floral and some hoppiness. Taste is good, caramel sweetness, butter popcorn. Strange mix.

Tap at Takanoya. Deep golden color, hazy, with lace. Nose is apples, malt, estery and a bit funky. Fullish body, malty apple flavor, funky, biscuits and some cherries. Sweet, fruity, fun and interesting though not for a whole lot.

Tasting set at Watering Hole. Pours nice clear, amber-golden with a persistent and lacings-rich foam head. Aroma is fruity, nice herbal hop background with some Belgian yeast spice. Taste has this Belgian thing dominating, spicy and a bit herbal, drinks easy. Bitter herbal aftertaste makes this one quite pleasant to drink.

Looks like this is now 4%. Bottle from Taniguchi. Ise Kadoya Hanakin Sakura 4% A pretty copper color with an off-white head of foam and a juicy citrus+guava hop bouquet complimented by hints of honey. Medium bodied with a slightly slick mouthfeel. The taste on this is juicy citrus and tropical hops, a touch of sweet yeast and malts then a crisp finish. It makes me want to seek out other beers in the Hanakin Series...

Bottle from Tanakaya. Pours a clearish copper with a finger of head that lingers. Saison-like yeast forward nose with some light floral notes and sakura-mochi. Really like a floral saison on the palate as well, with some light clove that comes out as it warms. Dryish finish. A fun beer that paired well with my dinner. --- Beer merged from original tick of Hanakin Sakura on 23 May 2016 at 21:07 - Score: 7. Original review text: Floral saison like nose. Dusty on the palate with some light Sakura aromas. Like a light saison.
