Bottle thanks to KBL. Big grapefruit nose, zesty, big fruit, slightly peppery, but mostly the fruit. Deep, hazy golden, low, thick head. nice malt and hop kick. Tasty. Not just fruit, the malt background is nice, and so are the hops. Bit of biscuit and honey. Prickly carbonation. Pretty nice.

Sankt Galen’s 2017 April Fool’s Beer: Namaguso Beer 5%

Inspired by an oddly named soft serve ice cream in Akita Prefecture - this beer label and name are freaking my wife out as the soft serve on the label and the name 生グソ could be read as 生クソ (Namakuso) which means fresh poo! Made with grape fruits and lactose this opaque copper brew smells like sweet grapefruit zest. Medium bodied, the taste is earthy, herbal hops, rough malt character, honey and sweet grapefruit. It’s a fun little beer in a quirky series.
