MELON HOPPY
– INFINITE SUMMER ALE –
This gently ale has an extra soft but prominent hop aroma, mainly arising from mash-hopping, a technique in which the hop is added early in the brewing process, directly with the malts.
Drink this ale at any moment of the day, but preferable in the sun. Let the summer begin!

Bottle from Flink Gegist, Delft. Aroma is mostly caramel malt, with bread, a soft herbal touch, light hops and light fruity notes. Flavour is moderate sweet and light bitter. Body is thin. Drinkable but unimpressive, it lacks character and the Hüll Melon doesn’t really shine.

Bottle. Clear deep amber-red color with large eggshell head. Aroma is caramel. Taste is caramel. Silky mouthfeel with high carbonation. Meh.

33cl bottle. A clear deep amber beer with a huge good lasting off-white head. Aroma of caramelish malt, mid sweet caramelish malt, nuts. Taste of caramelish malt, mid sweet malt, nuts, some fruits.

Bottle thanks to Benzai @ Secret Santa. Thanks for the style tick. Dark orange with a tall, foamy head that lingers. Aroma is a citrus & caramel mix, hints of pine. Taste is quite fitting to the name of the style—mild. A low key bittersweet note dominates from start to end. A mild hop bitterness is noticeable at the finish. Quite sessionable. A nice introduction to the style.

0.33l bottle from the local european swap, thanks maakun. pours a hazy deep amber with a big beige head which breaks down into islands. aroma of citrusy hops, toffee, slight funk. flavour of grapefruit zest, funk, chewed pencil. light body, bordering with watery. some woody bitterness in the finish.

Fles van Mitra Bunnik. Zacht fruitig en moutig. Wat toffee, beetje meloen. Prima, niet heel spannend verder. Bonuspuntje voor de naam :-)

Amber to red in appearance. Aroma and flavour have plenty of peach and tropical fruit notes. Also sweet , caramel malts.

33 cl. bottle @ home, bought @ W. van Schaik. Vianen. Hazy dark amber with a very thin head. Caramel aroma with a sweet taste. Very low carbonation, almost flat. Can’t imagine the end result is what the brewers intended because it’s unimpressive at best.

Bottle @ home. Label says 4.2%. Amber colour with a small to medium beige head. Smells somewhat hoppy, slightly bathfoam, malts. Tastes watery, malts. A hint of fruits (strawberry) in the background, but it’s quite feint. Thin body, soft carbo.

van tap @Utrechtse Bierbrouwers Festival 2017, wazig amber/caramel met lichte kraag. aroma is redelijk muffig en wat hoppen en mout. smaken van matige hopbitterheid, caramel, muffig ook weer, gist, mout, matige body, droge afdronk.
