Bottle. Kind of weird aroma, grapes and a touch of smoke again. But less than the ordinary version we had on Friday, strangely. Much less weird than the non-barrel version, candy, grape, tartness, nicer than the non-barrel too.

Very hazy muddy golden color. Creamy white head. Lightly sour, grape/muscat in the nose. Lightly sour, easy drinking lots of grape and some oak character. Very pleasent light sour beer.

Bottle. Nose of grape, apples, lemon, a bit of yogurt. Hazy gold with CO2 this time. A touch of DMS but not really a problem. Mostly grape flavors, dry, minerally, nice sweet-tart balance. Pretty good. One of the best in the series so far.

Bottle from the brewery. A cloudy gold with a big lactic fruity aroma. It’s medium to full bodied, fairly tart with a zesty seltzer-like mouthfeel. The taste is quite lactic and tart but also features some berry type flavors. Pretty good and I liked it well enough. Not an overly complex beer and I got no barrel characteristics from it at all but feel it was one of the tastier beers in this series. 3.6-7

Hazy yellow with a small white head with fine bubbles. Smoked cheese, seaweed on the nose. Tart on the palate with smoke and grapes. Good carbonation and mild bitterness. --- Beer merged from original tick of Barrel Reserve Series #8 on 11 Sep 2016 at 18:19 - Score: 6
