Brewed with 100% New York grown Cascade, Nugget and Chinook hops, Hopstate NY pours a light copper to medium amber hue with a persistent white head and incredible lacing. The taste is of citrus and tangerine with a slight pine resin presence and the bitterness is moderate. The finish is a pleasantly lingering resinous hop finish with a touch of sweet malt.

Draught via ginger Manhattan. Shiny deep gold with lacy head. Whiff is some spice and hops. Almost cinnamon and citrus. Odd but okay.

Beer and Smoke, Brooklyn tap: pours light orange with a whitish head. Aroma is citrus, must, pine, biscuit. Taste is citrusy and piny. I do not think it is exactly like a classic APA... some of the tastes struck me as different, but it is certainly not what one expects from Ommegang. Good, but not great, or maybe I was just not in the mood.

Cloudy gold. Nice citrus hop nose, biscuits, bit of resin and a touch of caramel. Nice citrus flavor. Malts are a bit dull but overall nice drinkability and tasty.

Tap at brewery with lunch. Fine cloudy dirty blonde pour. Nose is piney hops and peppery. Tastes similar of straight up old school apa. Pines and malt, some florals and grass light lemony citrus. Decent.

A hazed golden ale with a thick frothy lacing off white head. In aroma, nice biscuit malt with resinous floral hops, piney and pungent, very nice. In mouth, a nice biscuit malt with grassy piney floral hops, light citrus pulp, nice and smooth. On tap at Maggie’s on the River.

Pours deep hazy gold into a shaker. Bright white head with excellent retention slowly recedes leaving trailing sheets. Pine aroma. Soft with mild super elastic bubble plastic and bitter earth front to back. Not good.
