Proper pint at the brewery. Pours a clear, brown color, with a fine, creamy, beige head. The aroma is flamed orange peel, cardamom, butterscotch, and light peat. Sweet and nicely malty, with a mellow, resinous bitterness. Light and smooth. Beautiful, balanced, cask ale.

Cask at the brewery tap. Pours clear, rich orange with a tight, creamy off-white head. Nice nose has some toasted leaves, a little earth, orange peel. Light-medium sweet flavour with some piney resin, juicy citrus, toasty malts. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Good finish, more piney resin, pleasant citrus. Solid.

On tap at Hopshead, pours a clear copper amber with a small beige head. Aroma brings out lots of English malt, bready notes and light British hopping. Flavour is along the same lines, with English malt, ready notes and light hopping. Nice use of both the English malt and hops. Very good.
