I keep getting tricked by beers that say Belgian something or other and end up with a bunch of boring wits. Light florals and the smallest tang of funk at the end. Average carbonation. Blonde pour with decent head. Bottle.

Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a hazy pale yellow color with a medium sized creamy white head that faded quickly and left decent lacing. The aroma was musty and a touch skunky with hints of wheat and citrus. The flavor was tart, chewy, bready and musty with notes of pepper and lemon. Medium length finish of bread, must, pepper and lemon. Medium body. Disappointing.

Bottle. Lightly musty lemon peel aroma. Clear pale yellow with moderate head. Light dry lemon peel flavor with just a hint of malt. Very light - not much here.

On tap at Taco Mac. Light yellow pour, with a medium, white head and perfect lacing. Light lemon and orange aroma, with some notes of hay, bread dough, and cloves. Very sweet flavor, with a little citrusy tartness. Light body, crisp and refreshing. Overall, this is simple and light, even for a witbier. Very drinkable and tasty.

Yes, expecting good things with this and I am not dissapointed. Good sizzle from a bottle right from the start. Nice, almost soda olfactory effect. Nifty label too, but hey, is my time now heyday? You know, a masters division attendee? Goes down very smooth, I’m starting to like this. You know, I can’t think of many beers from divide that I have been dissatisfied with. Why can’t most witbeirs be this refined? Frovilling finish.

Bucket’s, Jenkintown tap ($4.25): Pours cloudy pale yellow with white head. Aroma is wheat, coriander, and one hop. Taste is pretty much the same. Simple and easy-drinking. This ain’t nothing special, but it was perfectly pleasant to drink.

Pour is a typical chalky yellow wit color with a average white head, Aroma has some corriander and spice with a little wheat malt. Flavor is an odd pepper with some spice and dull malt. Kinda a let down. That pepper came outta left field. Not something you would look for in a wit. Can’t see me getting this again.

Shaker pint draft at Fired Up Pizza in Denver, Colorado. The pour is a hazed yellow gold with a smallish white head. The aroma is a grassy wheat, along with a lime citrus and a bunch of Belgian yeast notes. The taste is the lime citrus, grassy earthy (somewhat dirty) wheat grain and finishes with a lot of spice and yeast. The flavors did not integrate all that well, and overall it was a bit of a weird tasting beer. The palate is light bodied, with an un filtered mouth feel and the dirty yeast finish. Just OK.

Pours hazy pale yellow with a frothy white head. Yeast/wheat aroma....barley malt. Taste is citrusy, wheaty, crisp....grass/hay. Slightly heavy-handed aftertaste.
