Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a slightly hazy copper color with a huge fluffy orange-white head that lingered forever and left good lacing. The aroma was bitter with sour mash, hay and floral/herbal hops. The flavor was bitter with hay, floral hops, herbal hops, a light earthiness and a bit of sour mash. Medium length finish. Medium body. Not good.

Pours a clear golden-yellow, with smallish head. Aroma is marked by citrus and herbal notes. Flavor is very dry, with some citrus and some hop bite. Kind of a weird overall taste to it--not sure this variety of hops is one of my favorites based on this tasting experience.

Deep slightly hazy copper and bronze coloured body with a rich, three centimetre tall off-white head. Aroma of hops, earth, caramel, toffee, deep fruits and a bit of citrus at the tail end - but overall, pretty earthy. Medium-bodied; Assertive toffee and caramelised sugar flavour at first with a lot of pungent medicinal and sticky grain and grassy flavours coupled with a rather caramel and biscuity malt flavour. Aftertaste is fairly muted with the caramel, toffee and grain coming through, but little else. Overall, a pretty mellow and understated beer, that does decently well, but there is nothing in here that makes this a great or even good beer. That said, I don’t care too much for Styrian Goldings and will probably avoid them in the future! I sampled this stubby twelve ounce bottle purchased from Total Wine in Alexandria, Virginia on 08-June-2016 for US$2,29 sampled at home in Washington on 25-July-2016.

12 ounce bottle into pint glass, best before 9/30/2016. Pours lightly hazy/cloudy golden orange color with a 2 finger dense and rocky off white head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a dense cap that lasts. Dense soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of grapefruit, lemon zest, orange peel, light pepper, pine, toasted biscuit, light caramel/nuttiness, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of citrus/earthy hops and moderate bready malt notes; with solid strength. Taste of big grapefruit, lemon zest, orange peel, light pepper, pine, toasted biscuit, light caramel/nuttiness, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Moderate pine/citrus peel/spicy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of grapefruit, lemon/orange peel, pepper, pine. toasted biscuit, and herbal/frloral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/earthy hops and moderate bready malt flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance and no astringent hop flavors lingering after the finish. Moderate dryness from bitterness, that increases through the glass. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately crisp/sticky, and lightly creamy/grainy balanced mouthfeel that is nice. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 5.5%. Overall this is a very nice pale ale. All around nice complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/earthy hops and moderate bready malt flavors; very smooth, crisp, and refreshing to drink. A very enjoyable offering.

Pencil shavings nose, oddly fecal. Hazy amber, firm medium yellow head, good lacing. Grass, pencil shavings, hints of tea. Medium body, easy carbonation. Reminiscent of the first craft beers I remembered drinking in the US.

Bottle Hazy golden with a huge full fluffy white head. Bitter sharp almost skunky aroma and flavors. This hop variety is not a favorite of mine. The English character I suppose was part of it. Not a fan

Bottle from Corti Bros. Pours gold with a white head. A musty/herb aroma. Med body or so. Flavor is spicy/citrus/earthy with a slightly toasted caramel support. Actually tho the flavor isn’t ideal, it is strong, so I’m going to think this is ok.
