Tap at Komachi. Big cocoa nose, with a bit of soy sauce and some spicy yeast. Cloudy dark brown color. Flavor is soy, cocoa, a bit of coffee and light fruit. A bit rough. Light, easy drinking. Decent but not so special.

Tap at Gremlin. Pours a murky brown with a small beige head that dissipates fairly quickly. Black bean, chocolate and caramel is strong on the nose. As it warms up, more caramelly bakers chocholate, smoked malt and cherry notes appear on the palate. Some natto like character as well, but not in a bad way. Some light woodiness. More smoke on the finish. Quite a complex little beer for 4 percent. --- Beer merged from original tick of Summer Porter on 05 Aug 2016 at 20:00 - Score: 6. Original review text: Cloudy brown.
