It’s spring solstice so time for a seasonal! Songbird Cuvée de printemps 7% Clear soft gold with a funky earthy a bit slinky aroma. Medium to light bodied and bone dry with herbal spicy hops and earthy accessible flavors. Really on point and drinkable.

Tap at Mikkeller Tokyo. Pours orange golden, just a bit of foam, still leaving nice lacings. Funky Belgian yeast nose, fretting some ripe persimmons and maybe dried pear. Taste is also smooth, yeasty fruitiness dominates and bitterness is more in the background adding some extra layers of complexity. Long lightly bitter aftertaste. Really well done actually, Songbird continues to satisfy me, definitely a great small brewery!

Bottle shared. Thanks TimE! Hazy gold with a finger of foam that lingers. Very yeast-driven nose with pear and apple standing out. The yeast is big on the palate as well. Some peppery notes and some bitterness. Slightly sweet, but finishes dry, and boozy. Not a bad effort, the parts are there, but just need to be tweaked a bit. --- Beer merged from original tick of Cuvee de Printemps on 04 Jun 2016 at 22:08 - Score: 7. Nice frothy white head. Huge funky yeasty nose. Fantastic nose. The mouth is malt, a bit boozy very yeasty. Not bad but not that great. Yeasty finish. For 7% it is too boozy.

Tap at Dig. Cloudy gold with lace. Nose of apple, apricot, interesting fruit. Dry flavor, peaches, apricot, a bit of funk. Bitter finish. Wild beer, dry, interesting. Crisp and fun and got better as it warmed.
