Tap at Osaka Castle. Deep black, pretty head. Nice cocoa and coffee nose, milky. Chocolate flavor, a bit phenolic with berries, full flavor and a big bitter finish.

On tap at Craft Beer Holiday. TY Harbor Cacao Stout 7% A chocolate brown with a burnt orange head of foam. The nose is like a decadent chocolate pastry with fudge overtones. Medium bodied with a raspy carbonation, it’s much dryer than I want in this kind of brew. My personal preference is a velvety smoothness. The taste is good, nutty, dark chocolate with some breadiness, a little roasty and maybe a touch of acrid dark malts but not excessively so. Well done.

pitch black color. Dark brown. Fairly roasted but moderately thin mouth with cacao and roasted malts notes
