Tap at Gremlin. Grainy, bitter like, not much hoppiness, can't get much mugicha either. Seems a bit sweeter than I'd expect. Bit of caramel. Low carb as you'd expect. Not really sure what the point is.

Tap at CBM Koenji. Faint malty notes with some light grass. Good carbonation (maybe a bit much for the style) and a medium body. Malt-forward but with a dry and slightly grassy, minerally finish. Decent enough and a well-made beer, but a little boring (so is the style though honestly). --- Beer merged from original tick of Mugicha Bitter on 16 Mar 2016 at 19:36 - Score: 6. Original review text: Not my favorite style but clean and refreshing. Light bitter finish.

Real Ale at Beer Belly. Brown-bronze, completely flat. Clear. Malty, caramel nose, light hopping. Tasty malt flavor, chocolate and caramel, earthy English hops. Prickly, spicy hop finish. Don’t really see what the barley tea does, but a nice bitter.

After a successful Pecha Kucha presentation it was time to celebrate with a cask English Bitter made with barley tea! Minō Bier English Bitter 4.4% Collaboration brew between Brighton Beer & Minoh on cask at Beer Belly Brewpub in Higobashi. I believe this beer was made with Mugicha tea. The aroma is light citrus notes and earthy tea/maltiness. Medium-full bodied with a smooth cask mouthfeel. The taste is bready rich biscuity malts and light tea notes that effortlessly blends into mild citrus hop notes. This is a really approachable English bitter that includes lemon tea notes. Smooth.
